Saturday the 5th May saw Kitesports worldwide host our first Hen Party Powerkite Taster.

Shoeburyness East was the venue and organised by Amanda who took the risk of trying something different for the 14 girls to do the session was a great success.

Depsite the rather bleak weather the wind held out for us and all the girls left the powerkite taster session with some new skills. Check out the photos here

Myself and 2 other award winning local business owners were invited to take part in an event for budding young entrepreneurs this week.

The event organised by "Enterprise in Education" provided the challenge for over 60 hopefulls from 5 local schools to choose a company name, design a logo, create a magazine advert, produce costings, marketing strategy and a TV advert for a new unique fragrance.

Our job was to provide inspiration from our own businesses and to judge in a Dragons Den/Apprentice style competition. The winning team led by the highly motivated Emma from Chase high school went for the romantic angle with "Eternal Scent" in a heart shaped bottle and came up with a USP of being able to personalise the smell of the product. Great stuff guys!

2012 North Rebel (Updated review)
I have now had a chance to try the 12m properly and this too is an awesome kite. Having been used to 12m kites being a bit slow and boring the Rebel was a pleasant surprise.

I recently took delivery of some of the 2012 North Rebels in 7m, 9m and 12m sizes. So far I have used the 7m and 9m and have to say I am very impressed with them.

I am absolutely thrilled to have had my business nominated and even more proud that Southend Kitesurfing (Formerly Kitesports worldwide) made it through to the finals in 2 categories, "Leisure and Tourism" and "Excellent Customer Service"
