mencap-10Southend Mencap which offers support for children and adults with learning difficulties brought a group of around 20 of its members along to try their hand at Powerkiting.

Blessed with a beautiful sunny day and a nice breeze all those attending regardless of their level were able to participate under our careful guidance.

Smiles and hugs were abundant as the group progressed onto larger and more exciting kites.

Several of the group showed excellent skills and by the end of the session were flying 4 line kites on their own.

Chairman Chris Hebden and Treasurer Greg Tredwell (who initiated the session) were also keen to have a go and were pleasantly surprised at how much fun Powerkiting is.
